He announced this at the international forum «Information Warfare: From Resistance to Resilience,» Ukrinform reports.
According to Budanov, AI in GUR is mostly used to process large amounts of information, in particular in working with databases.
«Millions of gigabytes of this information, and you may simply not find what you need. Artificial intelligence can more or less handle this issue,» said the head of the GUR.
He added that he does not yet see «serious progress» in the use of artificial intelligence in weapons systems, but believes that it will be, and noted its elements in drone guidance modules. Kirill Budanov did not rule out that when such progress appears, it will mean the appearance of real combat robots in the next decade.
Earlier, the Estonian company Milrem Robotics highly praised the level of Ukrainian developments, noting the speed and ingenuity of Ukrainian engineers. According to Milrem representatives, the appearance of their THeMIS platform in 2022 stimulated the development of Ukrainian ground robotics.
