«Brett Michael Dudig stalked and harassed more than 10 women, using modern technology and across state lines, and through his ruthless behavior caused his victims to fear for their safety and suffer significant emotional distress,» Troy Rivetti, First Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Pennsylvania, said in a statement, according to Futurism.
It is noted that Dadig was a kind of influencer who hosted a podcast on Spotify, where he constantly cursed at women, called them names and said that they were «all the same.» Sometimes he even threatened to kill some of the women he was harassing. In this show, the man also said that ChatGPT helps him with all this.
Dadig described the AI chatbot as his «therapist» and «best friend.» Justice Department prosecutors say the bot «encouraged him to continue hosting the podcast because it created ‘haters,’ which meant monetization for Dadig.» ChatGPT even convinced him that he had fans who «literally rally around his name, for better or worse.
Dadig also asked ChatGPT questions about women, such as who his potential future wife would be, what she would be like, and «where the hell is she?» The AI suggested he meet his future partner at the gym and advised him to «keep texting women and going to places where potential wives gather, like sports communities.»
That’s exactly what Dadig, who called himself the «God Killer,» did. In one instance, he followed a woman to a Pilates studio where she worked, and when she ignored him because of his aggressive behavior, he sent her unsolicited nude photos and constantly called her at work. He continued to stalk and harass her to the point that she moved to a new home and began working fewer hours. In another instance, he confronted a woman in a parking lot and followed her to her car, where he assaulted her.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman previously said that adult ChatGPT users who can verify their age will have access to a less censored version of the AI chatbot, which will contain erotic material and will be able to sext with users.
