At the same time, as Mashable writes, Trump Mobile’s individual terms and conditions make it clear that the US president’s mobile brand is not actually obligated to deliver anything.
The terms clearly state that «Trump Mobile does not guarantee that the device will enter commercial production» or that production will begin. It also states that there are no guarantees regarding «delivery within any specific timeframe.»
The publication recalls that over the past year, the company has been accepting deposits of $100 per phone, promising that payment of these funds will «lock in the promotional price of your T1 phone» at $499 for early adopters.
However, the terms and conditions page directly contradicts this claim, stating that the $100 deposit only entitles you to buy the phone «when it comes out someday.» And if it does, the terms also state that it «doesn’t have to be $499.»
«The advance deposit only provides a conditional opportunity if Trump Mobile, in its sole discretion, decides to offer the device for sale. The deposit does not lock in the price, and prices and terms of the promotion may change at any time prior to purchase,» the website states.
The site also states that device specifications, features, software, hardware components, memory capacity, bundled accessories, colors, and configurations are subject to change prior to final sale, and images, prototypes, beta demos, and marketing renderings are for illustrative purposes only and may not reflect final products.
«This shouldn’t be surprising, as the T1 has already changed quite a bit since its initial announcement. For example, Trump Mobile has dropped its 'made in America' branding,» writes Mashable.
