Draft Law No. 13548 on «Amending Certain Laws of Ukraine on the Introduction of a Ban on the Production, Import, and Placement of Electronic Cigarettes, Refill Containers, and Liquids Used in Electronic Cigarettes» was submitted by MPs Mykhailo Bondar, Yana Zinkevich, Yaroslav Yurchyshyn, Viktoriya Hryb, and Mykola Velychkovych.
«The purpose of developing the bill is to protect the health of the population
Ukraine by enshrining in law a complete ban on
production, import, wholesale and retail trade, as well as introduction into
circulation of electronic cigarettes, refill containers and liquids that
are used in electronic cigarettes on the territory of Ukraine,» the explanatory note to the bill states .
It cites data from the Center for Public Health of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, according to which more than 70% of daily smokers aged 18-29 use electronic smoking products: 37% of respondents use electrically heated tobacco products, and 36% use electronic cigarettes.
Among adolescents aged 13-15, 40% have used electronic devices at least once
cigarettes, and about 20% are current users. Half
of surveyed adolescents aged 15-16 had experience smoking electronic cigarettes
cigarettes, and one in five (19%) had used them in the last 30 days.

«public health,» the authors of the bill believe.
Recall that in July last year, Ukraine restricted the sale of tobacco products and banned smoking e-cigarettes in public places .
