Now Claude Design can work directly with your local code, so new design elements will immediately adapt to the current frontend. The created layout can be transferred to Claude Code in one click - the AI agent will instantly program the interface without coding from scratch. In addition, you will no longer have to upload screenshots to explain your idea to the AI, writes Engadget.
If you want to do without Claude Design, that's also possible: Anthropic has added the option to create and edit layouts directly in Claude Code. Just type the /design command in the terminal.
In addition to deeper integration with other Anthropic apps, the update brings a number of useful improvements, including a more flexible import tool that can create entire design systems from GitHub repositories and raw files.
“Claude builds an interface from your own components, checks the result against your design system, and makes corrections before you even see it,” Anthropic explains.
At the same time, the company has improved the built-in graphics editor to give users more precise control over the placement, size, and alignment of elements.
For organizations, the app has a new admin role that allows you to approve and block changes from being edited. And for regular users, Anthropic has added a new shortcut to quickly jump to Claude Design from the sidebar of the desktop app. You can also open the service in a web browser by simply typing claude.ai/design in the address bar.
Taken together, these changes suggest that Anthropic is preparing to move Claude Design out of preview. Last but not least, the company notes that Claude Design now shares usage limits with its other products, including Claude Code and regular chat. Anthropic adds that this will make it less likely that “most people” will hit their limits. At the same time, the developers have optimized the tool, making it more token-efficient and less prone to errors.
