Cloudflare has announced the acquisition of Human Native, a specialized data marketplace that connects content creators and artificial intelligence developers.
“Content creators deserve full control over their work, whether they want to write for humans or optimize for artificial intelligence,” said Cloudflare CEO Matthew Prince.
The company's CEO said that this acquisition will help Cloudflare accelerate the development of a new system in which artificial intelligence developers will pay creators for any content they use to train their models.
Cloudflare has previously provided website owners with tools to block parsers that collect information to train neural networks, and now the company is taking the next step by transforming original content into structured, AI-ready data.
Thanks to Human Native technologies, Cloudflare plans to create a transparent mechanism where authors and publishers can set fair prices for their content, and AI developers will have quick access to legal and high-quality datasets for training models.
Prince noted that simply blocking bots is not enough — we need to build tools that allow content to be found and purchased through transparent channels.
Founded in 2024, Human Native brings together veterans from DeepMind, Google, Figma, and Bloomberg. Their infrastructure allows data to be structured in a way that is understandable and algorithmically friendly, simplifying the licensing process for both parties.
