Now, instead of asking an analyst to write a query or to deal with SQL and BI systems on their own, a user can ask ChatGPT: “Why did sales fall last week?” or “Where did we start spending more money?” The agent will try to find the answer in the data available to him. The user can then ask additional questions, ask to check a separate version, or show the evidence on which the conclusion is based.
Data agent can instantly transform the results of the analysis into an interactive dashboard. It can be edited, shared with colleagues, and updated as data changes. For example, a company can ask the agent to show the entire user journey, from product installation to regular use, and find the point at which people most often “fall off.” And if the company already works with BI systems, Data agent can interact with Power BI, Tableau, Sigma, ThoughtSpot, Omni, and Oracle BI.
The AI assistant can connect to Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, ClickHouse, Databricks, MongoDB, Snowflake, Datadog, and more. It can also use files and documents from Google Drive and SharePoint for analysis.
In addition, AI can be “taught” the internal logic of a specific company. For example, what exactly it calls an active user, how it calculates a certain metric, or which tables are related to each other.
The agent does not receive uncontrolled access to all data. Administrators determine which sources can be connected and who can use them. Access restrictions already set up in the company are also preserved - down to individual tables, rows and columns.
After analyzing, ChatGPT Work can suggest next steps and suggest who on the team should be brought in. Results can be shared with colleagues via Slack or email, and through connected tools, user-agreed actions can be taken.
OpenAI claims that the company itself is already actively using the technology behind Data Agent. It is used by almost the entire company's product team and more than two-thirds of the GTM division.
Data agent is available as a Data plugin in ChatGPT Work. The company administrator can install it via the Plugins directory and connect the required data sources. After that, employees can invoke the agent in the chat via @Data.
Previously, dev.ua wrote that OpenAI launched ChatGPT for Financial Services — a special version of ChatGPT Work for banks, investment companies, and financial analysts. It can also work directly with professional databases. In particular, search for financial indicators of companies, analyze reporting, and prepare models, notes, and presentations based on them.
