Daybreak is an OpenAI program that gives proven cybersecurity professionals broader access to the capabilities of its models for defensive tasks.
The company will cooperate with the Ministry of Digital Transformation. Ukrainian specialists will be able to use OpenAI tools to search for weaknesses in software, analyze suspicious activity, prepare fixes and check whether they really work. First of all, this concerns the protection of civil infrastructure: hospitals, energy facilities, telecommunications and other systems that ensure the daily work of cities and communities.
According to CERT-UA, almost 6,000 cyber incidents were recorded in Ukraine in 2025. OpenAI expects that AI will help defenders deal with attacks faster and check large amounts of code, especially in older systems where manual vulnerability scanning can be time-consuming.
