Vereshchuk noted that the meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Defense, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Health, the Medical Forces Command, as well as the head of the relevant parliamentary committee, Oleksandr Zavitnevych. As a result, it was decided to make the following legislative changes to the procedure for passing the military medical commission (MMC):
«We discussed the issue of proper organization of processes so that after establishing new deadlines, people can pass the VLK on time,» wrote Iryna Vereshchuk.
According to her, until the adoption of Law No. 12457, the CCC will not impose fines on those who do not have time to pass the VLK by February 5, and they will not be declared wanted. Vereshchuk also asked the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Health, and «other relevant agencies» to take special control over the process of informing people.
Recall that in April last year, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed Law No. 10313 on ensuring the rights of military personnel and police officers to social protection. The draft law was significantly revised, in particular, an amendment was added to it, stating that conscripts who were recognized as limitedly fit for military service will have to re-pass the VLK within 9 months.
On January 28, 2025, the Cabinet of Ministers made changes to the procedure for conscripting citizens for military service during mobilization, which paved the way for the introduction of electronic referrals to the Military Commissariat in the «Reserve+» application.
