OpenAI has made Deep Research available to Plus, Team, Edu, and Enterprise users, a feature that lets you create in-depth reports on virtually any topic. Previously, you needed the $200/month Pro plan to try Deep Research.
OpenAI launched Deep Research in early February. This feature allows you to thoroughly research any topic, whether it’s science or even buying a car.
Initially, the results were text-only. ChatGPT now embeds images along with quotes to provide «deeper insights.» The system also has a better understanding of file types, which should improve document analysis, Engadget reports .
Starting yesterday, Plus, Team, Edu, and Enterprise subscribers can also use Deep Research:
To try out the new feature, write a query as usual, but before sending it to OpenAI, click the Deep Research icon. Depending on the complexity of the question, ChatGPT can take anywhere from five to 30 minutes to respond.
OpenAI says that Deep Research is currently «very resource-intensive,» so it will be some time before free version users can try out the feature.
