Ukrainian-Estonian defense startup Deftak, which develops ammunition for new generation drones, has raised €600,000 from the European defense investment fund Darkstar.
The funds raised will help Deftak scale production and strengthen its capabilities in assisting the defense forces of Ukraine and NATO, AIN writes .
The company is developing a new type of weapon that integrates with any unmanned aerial vehicle platform. This allows it to transform reconnaissance drones into high-precision strike UAVs even in difficult electronic warfare environments when GPS signals are unavailable.
The technology has already successfully passed combat tests, operates at altitudes of up to 10 km and costs up to 10 times less than traditional systems.
Deftak includes successful startup founders and scientists, engineers with experience working at leading technology companies such as Google, Facebook, Megogo, EPAM.
Darkstar is a coalition of over 20 founders, hackers, and investors from Estonia, Ukraine, Germany, France, and the UK, all united by one goal: to build a European defense technology ecosystem.
