Spotify boasted that it will release more than 50 new features and updates for its streaming music service in 2025. Among them were AI-powered playlists, Page Match for audiobooks, and About This Song, which were launched in the past few weeks, TechCrunch reports .
The company said its programmers use an internal system called «Honk» to accelerate programming and product development speed. This system allows remote deployment of code in real time using Claude Code’s generative artificial intelligence.
«A Spotify engineer can ask Claude to fix a bug or add a new feature to the iOS app on their morning commute via Slack on their mobile phone. When Claude is done with the work, the engineer gets a new version of the app sent via Slack to their phone so they can merge it with the product, all before they even get to the office,» Söderström said.
Spotify notes that the AI system has «significantly» accelerated programming, and believes that this is just the beginning of the technology’s development.
