This is stated in the court’s decision dated December 12, 2025.
According to the case materials, on December 5, 2025, near Mogilev-Podilskyi, 600 meters from the Ukrainian-Moldovan border, border guards discovered a citizen of Ukraine who, together with other persons, was trying to cross the border outside the official checkpoint. According to the court, the man was traveling as a passenger in a Chevrolet Lacetti car directly to the state border, after which he planned to swim across the Dniester River.
The court qualified the programmer’s actions as an attempt to illegally cross the state border, committed by a group of individuals.
The accused did not appear at the court hearing, but was duly notified and filed a plea of guilty. His guilt was confirmed by the border guard protocol, written explanations from other participants in the incident, reports from military personnel, a map of the area, and photo and video materials.
Taking into account the nature of the offense and the absence of aggravating or mitigating circumstances, the court decided to impose a fine of UAH 8,500 (500 tax-free minimum incomes of citizens). In addition, he was charged a court fee of UAH 605.60.
The decision can be appealed to the Vinnytsia Court of Appeal within ten days from the date of its issuance.
