UPD. Traffic at checkpoints has been restored. The State Border Service of Ukraine reported a large-scale failure of the customs base that stopped entry and exit clearance
The registration of people and transport at the state border has been temporarily suspended. The reason was a malfunction in the customs database, due to which passenger and cargo traffic entering and leaving Ukraine is currently not being carried out.
The registration of people and transport at the state border has been temporarily suspended. The reason was a malfunction in the customs database, due to which passenger and cargo traffic entering and leaving Ukraine is currently not being carried out.
According to the State Border Service, border operations are suspended due to the unavailability of customs information systems. Border guards emphasize that clearance is not carried out in both directions until specialists restore the base's operability. The timing of eliminating the problem has not yet been announced.
The problem is that without a functioning customs base, clearance stops for everyone. Even if border control is ready to work, without confirmation from customs, transport and citizens cannot complete formalities, since data on goods, vehicles and statuses of persons are synchronized through unified registers. The failure of the central base makes both transit clearance and border crossing by private cars impossible.
Drivers are advised to follow updates on the official channels of the State Border Guard Service and customs, as well as adjust routes: alternatives during the incident are limited, since the problem concerns the central base, not a separate point. For passenger bus or rail services, delays are possible along the entire route.
UPD 15:55 : The movement of international passenger trains and the registration of passengers at railway checkpoints in both directions continues as usual. A technical failure in the customs system, which temporarily paralyzed the work of automobile checkpoints, did not affect rail traffic; the cause of the incident was a power outage after enemy shelling of energy facilities. Border guards also ensure the passage of citizens crossing the western border on foot, with the exception of the "Dyakove" and "Selmentsi" checkpoints.
It is worth considering separately the requirements for documents and permits after the restoration of services.
Earlier, dev.ua wrote about how the government portal published a resolution amending the Rules for Crossing the State Border by Citizens of Ukraine. This means that starting August 28, men aged 18 to 22 inclusive can travel abroad.
