How it all began

According to Denis (the IT worker asked not to give his last name for security reasons — Ed.), one of the co-founders of the project, the team began development in May 2022, and four months later, in September, the first working version (MVP) appeared.

It included user profiles, car information, publications, search, likes, and comments. Over time, the platform was gradually expanded: groups, an AI assistant, awards, subscriptions, private messages, and detailed statistics were added. «We decided to combine the experiment with a separate platform for motorcyclists, eRide, which we also created, with eDrive to focus on developing a single community,» says Denis.

According to him, a team of three people, who are friends from university, are working on the project. They are all IT professionals: one is responsible for design and UX, one for the frontend, and one for the backend. If necessary, external specialists are connected to specific tasks.

The project, says Denys, is being developed at the team’s own expense: without external investments, with a conscious investment of time, resources, and expertise.

«Currently, our main goal is to create a valuable and useful product for car owners. We are testing different approaches to monetization: in particular, additional paid elements for users are already available on the platform. In the future, we are considering the development of monetization through premium features and partner solutions,» the startup notes.

He adds: the team is open to investment proposals at the project scaling stage.

Who is Drive for and what does it offer?

The main goal of the platform is to give car owners the opportunity to run their own blog about their car and store important information in one place: from maintenance and modifications to driving experience. This content is also useful for other users: you can find solutions to specific problems thanks to the experience of other drivers.

«The platform is constantly developing as a living social network: communities, AI assistant, subscriptions, detailed profiles of cars and motorcycles. On eDrive, you can create posts, ask questions, comment, communicate in chats, and view other users' publications,» says Denis.

To join, simply create a profile and add your car. The platform is open to all adult users, regardless of gender or country of residence. After creating a profile on " eDrive», the user gets access to all the platform’s tools: publications, communities, private messages, awards and car statistics. The AI assistant helps you find answers to questions faster, and short video dashes (similar to Reels) allow you to share live moments from the car.

Each user can maintain their own blog, store maintenance and tuning history, look for solutions in the experience of others, participate in thematic groups and communities, subscribe to interesting drivers, and receive reminders about important events, such as maintenance or replacement of parts.

Today, according to the startuper, the site has over 60,000 registered users, mostly from Ukraine. «The analytics collects the gender of users partially, but among those who can be identified, men predominate, although the activity of women is also noticeable,» says Denis.

Your own blog about cars. Each user can keep a personal journal: maintenance, modifications, operating experience. Everything is conveniently stored in one place and available for viewing at any time.

Communities and groups. Thematic communities allow you to unite by car brand, type of transport or specific issues, exchange advice and experience.

AI assistant. Artificial intelligence helps you quickly find answers to questions, suggests relevant posts, and simplifies platform navigation.

Short dashes videos. Similar to Reels: users can share live moments from their cars, not just text posts.

Rewards and subscriptions. The ability to subscribe to interesting drivers and receive rewards for activity.

Statistics and reminders. Detailed vehicle analytics and a reminder system help you keep track of maintenance, parts replacement, and other important events.

Easy start. To join, you need to create a profile and add your car — after that, all the platform tools are open for use.

Accessibility. The social network is open to all adult users, regardless of gender or country of residence.

Relevant for Ukraine. With over 60,000 users, mostly from Ukraine, the platform actively helps car enthusiasts exchange knowledge and experience in real-world conditions.

What’s next?

In the coming years, the team plans to actively develop the platform’s functionality. «The main emphasis will be on AI tools that allow you to find the right information faster and use the community’s experience more effectively,» says Denis. The launch of short video dashes is also planned, which will allow you to share live moments from the car, and not just text posts.

«The team is focused on creating a product that will be useful to every car owner and will be one of the first programs that a user will install after purchasing a car,» the startuper summarizes.
