As reported by «Military», STRILA is a drone-interceptor of the Shahed strike UAVs. It can reach speeds of over 300 km per hour. The developers do not disclose the detailed characteristics of the drone, but note that the aerodynamic body allows you to minimize air resistance and increase the effectiveness of the interception.
Using special software that is already in use by the Ukrainian Defense Forces, STRILA can move into the area of movement of an enemy drone, and then the operator manually brings the interceptor to the target, the developers report. In order to ensure the operation of the drone, the manufacturing company has developed its own propellers that can withstand the corresponding load.
The STRILA interceptor is designed to stay in the air for 15-20 minutes, it is equipped with both a daytime and television camera, so it can operate at any time of the day.
«If we talk about its level of readiness, it is at the TRL-7 level (Technology Readiness Level 7 — The prototype was tested in conditions as close to combat as possible — ed.). That is, it is an almost ready-to-use sample. These drones have not yet had active combat use, but we have units that test these drones in places where there are Shahed movement routes,» said a company representative.
BUREWIY is a Russian reconnaissance drone interceptor. This project was inspired by the development of the STRILA interceptor. It is designed to destroy enemy reconnaissance UAVs such as the Orlan, Zala, SuperCam, and others. BUREWIY interceptors also use the company’s own propellers.
BUREWIY can destroy enemy drones at an altitude of 1000-2000 meters, has a speed of 250 km per hour. «This drone works on our digital communication, our production, meaning radio control. It also uses Walksnail video communication — this is a popular technology that is actively used in the military,» the company representative noted.
«Currently, BUREWIY is not yet used directly by units, but has also undergone various tests, including those conducted by the commission of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. The interceptor is already close to codification. It is a matter of weeks or months when it will be supplied to specific units either through direct purchases or through the Ministry of Defense,» the company added.
