Ukrainian operator shoots down Russian Shahed for the first time while at a considerable distance from his interceptor drone
Oleksandr Kamyshin, advisor to the President of Ukraine on strategic issues, reported that a Shahed suicide drone was shot down by a Ukrainian LITAVR interceptor drone, which was controlled remotely.
Oleksandr Kamyshin, advisor to the President of Ukraine on strategic issues, reported that a Shahed suicide drone was shot down by a Ukrainian LITAVR interceptor drone, which was controlled remotely.
«This morning I personally saw how the pilots remotely controlled the LITAVR interceptor drone. After that, the downing of the Shahed drone was confirmed. This is the first case of remote interception!» Kamyshin wrote on X (Twitter).
He added a video of Shahed being beaten to his post.
Military analyst and former advisor to the Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Kopytko also said that the 190th SBS training center remotely shot down Shahed with a LITAVR interceptor drone from F-Drones. The pilot was at a considerable distance from the launch site.
This morning, I personally witnessed pilots from Lithuania remotely operating an interceptor drone. A confirmed Shahid kill followed. First remote interception! All this during one of the most massive air attacks on Ukraine. This changes how air defense is built. pic.twitter.com/0ewkgC5imd
«Now, mobile air defense fire groups and various crews on LBS that use interceptor drones must have a qualified pilot. Pilots need to be trained, placed along the perimeter / provided with them in the country’s interior to close possible directions of attack,» Kopytko explained.
According to him, remote control allows you to place interceptors in areas where it is dangerous for people to be.
The development of the F7 LITAVR interceptor began in the fall of 2024. In the summer of 2025, the drone underwent successful testing and codification, and in the fall of 2025, serial production and deliveries to units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine began, Defender Media reported .
The maximum speed of the F7 LITAVR is 300 km/h, the flight duration is up to 15 minutes, the warhead weight is 500 g. The declared tactical radius of application was 36 km.
Previously, the operators of the Orion unit were among the first in Ukraine to test remote drone control technology, which allows piloting UAVs from anywhere in the world.
The Orion carried out a complex logistical mission at a distance of more than 1,100 km from the front in one of the most difficult areas — the Kupyansk direction. The operator was in western Ukraine and remotely lifted the drone, guided it to the position and delivered the necessary cargo to the Ukrainian military.
