The launch of the new tool is reported by TechCrunch. Buzz was developed by Block, which also owns Square, Cash App, Afterpay, and Tidal.
Buzz is aimed at teams and startups that actively engage AI agents in their daily tasks. The app combines the functionality of a Slack-style work messenger with GitHub project management capabilities in a single window. This avoids the fragmentation of workflows when employees have to switch between different platforms.
According to Dorsey, Buzz is “model-agnostic, decentralized, autonomous, and open.” Because developers have full access to the source code, each team can tailor a Buzz instance to their needs, deploy the features they need, and provide their own hosting.
Buzz developers note that the product is still in its “early stages,” so they don’t recommend fully migrating teams there just yet. The free desktop app is already available for macOS, Windows, and Linux, and the source code is available on GitHub .
