In October, Ukrainian military personnel can begin training in EPAM’s special online program «IT for Veterans.» It should help veterans master a new profession in IT.
The «IT for Veterans» program is free and available to participants without IT experience, regardless of age or geography, the press release notes.
The training consists of two stages:
IT Fundamentals — This module covers the basic knowledge of computer science, programming, and mathematics for IT. Participants will take online classes three times a week and will also have access to additional educational materials on a special platform. Duration — 6 weeks.
Specialization — after successfully completing the first stage, veterans will have the opportunity to delve into one of the following areas: Java, .NET, Automated Testing, Manual Testing, Cloud & DevOps, Front-End, or Business Analysis. Duration — 6-8 weeks.
Training is conducted in Ukrainian, and the specialization provides interactive content in English.
«The program is aimed not only at professional development and employment, but also at the adaptation of veterans through training. Classes will be held in small groups with the support of teachers and mentors in a safe environment,» the organizers note.
It is noted that graduates of the first batch of the program have already joined the EPAM team as junior specialists.
To participate in «IT for Veterans», you need to register, take an English test, answer a short survey, and chat with an AI assistant to clarify the details. The number of places is limited, registration will close as soon as the required number of applications is received.
The program is scheduled to start in October, and the class schedule includes classes three times a week: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 5:00 PM–7:00 PM.
Recall that recently, Ukrainian developers created the «Bashta» platform, which helps find businesses that provide preferential services for veterans. It is dedicated to the memory of serviceman Serhiy «Bashta» Petrenko, who died in a Russian terrorist attack in Olenivka. His mother participated in the development of the service.
