10 shopping centers destroyed and over $1 billion in damage. Epicenter told how they work after a large-scale Russian attack
The Epicenter shopping mall chain said that since the start of the full-scale invasion, Russia has completely destroyed 10 of the company’s shopping centers, and total business losses exceeded $1 billion as of the spring of 2025. After the latest Russian attack, the company is restructuring its logistics, but assures that it does not plan to pass on the losses to customers through price increases.
The company told dev.ua that since February 2022, Russian attacks have completely destroyed the chain’s shopping centers in:
Mariupol;
Chernihiv;
Buchi;
Nicopolis;
Kharkiv;
Kamyansky;
Kherson (two shopping centers);
Sumac;
Krivoy Rog.
Another shopping center in Melitopol is under Russian occupation.
In addition to stores, the company lost its ceramic tile production, a logistics complex on Viskozna Street in the capital, and the logistics center in Kalynivka was destroyed for the second time this year.
In addition, 13 more shopping centers were damaged by Russian strikes.
Losses already exceeded $1 billion
According to independent experts, as of the spring of 2025, Epicenter’s direct losses from a full-scale war exceeded $1 billion .
The company notes that after the attacks of 2025–2026, this amount increased significantly, but the final assessment is still underway.
After the latest attack, the company has already begun to redistribute inventory and change logistics routes.
Epicenter expects that there will be no significant shortage of goods, although some items may temporarily disappear from the shelves. One of the reasons is also the destruction of manufacturers' and suppliers' warehouses during the recent Russian strikes.
The company says it has no plans to raise prices just because of the destruction of its own logistics infrastructure.
At the same time, the cost of individual goods may change under the influence of other factors — currency exchange rates, energy prices, or the situation on global commodity markets.
The network has become smaller, but investments continue
If before the start of the Great War the network had80 shopping centers, today 70 are operating.
Despite this, the company emphasizes that it does not refuse investments in Ukraine and continues to open new facilities even during the war. «Since the beginning of the war, the company’s owners have made a strategic decision to continue investing in Ukraine. We will continue to work and develop, because supporting the economy, creating jobs, and continuous business operation are critically important for the country’s stability,» Epicenter noted.
The company also thanked Ukrainians who, after the recent attacks, supported the network with purchases and appeals on social networks. «This support gives us the feeling that we are not alone with this trouble. It motivates us not to stop and move forward despite the pain and losses,» the company noted.
UPD. The Russians massively attacked Ukraine with ballistic missiles and jet drones at night. Among the targets were Nova Poshta, Rozetka, and Epicenter.
