Bell-1 solves one of the key problems of quantum computers - the need for complex cooling. Thanks to its own cryogenic system, it maintains a temperature of 0.3 Kelvin without bulky installations.

As reported by the Techradar portal, Equal1 has introduced Bell-1, the world's first quantum computer that can be integrated into a standard server rack and plugged into a regular outlet.

Quantum computing has previously remained the preserve of research labs due to the extremely complex infrastructure requirements, especially cooling. Previously, the only player in the quantum computing market that provided the technology for businesses was IBM with its System One solution, which will soon receive an update to version 2.

Bell-1 has a built-in cryogenic system that maintains a temperature of 0.3 Kelvin (-272.85°C) without bulky installations. The quantum computer consumes 1600 watts and runs on standard power. Equal1 assures that Bell-1 is as easy to install as a regular server. Thanks to the form factor of a standard server rack (600 mm × 1000 mm × 1600 mm), it is easily integrated into modern data centers and high-performance computing systems. However, the weight of such a computer is 200 kilograms.

So far, Bell-1's weakest point is its low computing power, at just 6 qubits. The aforementioned System Two will have at least 133 qubits thanks to the new Heron processor.

Recall that we previously published a comprehensive article about the current state of quantum computing and which players are leaders in the field.
