Farsight Vision created a 3D simulation for military practice storming buildings in VR

Farsight Vision has announced the launch of a new Floor Plan feature in its FSV App. The tool allows military personnel to automatically convert conventional 2D floor plans into full 3D models for tactical planning and training of building clearance missions.
The new functionality is designed primarily for special forces units preparing for counter-terrorism operations and urban combat. Thanks to Floor Plan, fighters can practice storming a specific facility in a virtual environment before going to the scene.
To create a simulation, simply upload a 2D image of the building (even a diagram drawn in a basic graphics editor will do) via the developer's web platform. In the built-in editor, the user can adjust the layout: adjust walls, windows, and rooms. After saving, the object is transferred to the application, where the team can load the simulation and practice tactics directly inside the room using cover and firing.
The system also supports VR mode for maximum approximation to real conditions and contains a built-in library with realistic weapon models, making training a full-fledged tactical exercise.
“Today, the value of a second in combat is higher than ever. Floor Plan gives commanders the opportunity to conduct a full-scale simulation of the assault on a specific room before the group enters — knowing where the walls are, where the windows are, where the possible threats are. This is an advantage that can save lives,” noted Farsight Vision CEO Viktoriya Yaremchuk.
Recall that in the winter, Farsight Vision raised $7.2 million in a new round of investment . Co-founder and CEO of Farsight Vision Viktoriya Yaremchuk said that the new investment will help the company combine its products into a system solution that will allow for autonomous decision-making at every stage of combat drone missions.
“We want people to choose Farsight Vision not because of the salary.” The CEO of a miltech startup explained why they don’t hunt down scarce specialists by raising salaries
