Favbet Tech is making cuts. The company says it's a "forced decision"

Favbet Tech has begun a wave of layoffs. Posts from former specialists who are "open to new opportunities" have appeared on LinkedIn.

What is known about the reduction

Yesterday, November 20, a message about layoffs in the R&D department of Favbet Tech appeared on the Telegram channel "Overheard in IT".

"Favbet Tech has laid off almost the entire R&D department. We don't know the exact number. They say that most likely the layoffs are still ongoing. It all started at the beginning of the week. They were allowed to lay off teams in one day without notice. They refuse to pay compensation to gig contractors for the lack of a 30-day notice," the Telegram channel "Overheard in IT" reported .

Posts from Favbet Tech specialists who have already started looking for a new job have also appeared on LinkedIn.

HR Business Partnership Manager Tetyana Galchenko, who has worked at the company since May 2024, wrote about this: "I want to share that my cooperation with Favbet has come to an end due to downsizing in the company. Today I am again in an open search for professional opportunities."

Software Engineer Igor Andrianov, who worked at Favbet Tech for 6 months, according to his LinkedIn profile, also wrote about finding a new job.

IT Project Manager Oleksandr Biletsky also announced on social media that he is "open to new opportunities" after almost two years of working for the company.

What the company says

Favbet Tech confirmed to dev.ua that it is currently undergoing a process of team optimization, including the reduction of certain positions. However, the company did not report on the number of IT specialists who lost their jobs and which departments they were from.

"This is a forced decision caused by significant external pressure on Ukrainian business. The company acts exclusively within the framework of current contractual obligations with IT specialists. All terminations of cooperation occur in accordance with contractual terms and with full respect for rights," the company noted.
