Former First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov said that before his resignation, he had been working on the reform of territorial procurement centers (TCC). According to him, it included a ban on the use of balaclavas, the introduction of body cameras, and changes to the mobilization system.
Fedorov said this in an interview with Ukrainska Pravda.
«I had a pre-planned meeting with all key stakeholders on the mobilization issue for Wednesday, at the time of my release, to sign an order to remove the balaclavas, the cameras, put the CCC in order, and take a step towards reform. We were moving according to plan,» he said.
According to Fedorov, the team was also preparing a new mobilization model. Its concept was planned to be presented in July and launched in August.
«Our task was to show it in July and launch it in August,» the former minister noted. He also commented on the attitude of Ukrainians towards mobilization, stating that the main reason for the reluctance to join the army is the fear of death. «People don’t join the army because they are afraid of dying, and this is a normal fear,» Fedorov said.
In addition, he reported that the team was working on opening the market to foreigners, increasing payments to assault unit servicemen to $7,000, as well as changes to the contract system and terms of service.
Fedorov’s successor has said he intends to end the war before his sons reach military age. They are now 9 and 11. Highlights from Yevgeny Khmara’s interview with Lori Loomer
