This was announced by Mykhailo Fedorov, former Minister of Defense of Ukraine.
"Starlink operation at speeds up to 160 km/h is being resumed. Strike drones and interceptor drones should fly again. Now we need to work on removing the speed limit for Starshield altogether," Fedorov wrote.
As a reminder, on the night of October 14, the Ukrainian military encountered disruptions in the operation of Starshield terminals, SpaceX’s military satellite communications service. According to the Ukrainian military, the connection began to disappear while traveling at a speed of over 160 km/h.
The restrictions affected the operation of unmanned aerial vehicles, including strike drones and interceptors. There were also difficulties with military logistics, intelligence, and communications relay. The 7th Airborne Corps reported that some missions had to be canceled due to disruptions.
According to Ukrainska Pravda’s sources in the Ministry of Defense, SpaceX imposed restrictions without warning the Ukrainian Defense Forces. After that, the Ukrainian side began contacting the United States, SpaceX, and NATO partners, as well as checking backup communication channels.
