Mobile phone company HONOR Philippines has set a world record by testing the durability of its new smartphones. It enlisted the help of several hundred people to do so.
264 people took part in a drop test of the new HONOR X9c 5G mobile phone. They all simultaneously dropped the phones onto the floor from shoulder height, screen down. Thanks to this unusual test, this event was entered into the Guinness Book of Records.
Did all 264 phones pass the test?
It is reported that no phones were damaged. But the most interesting thing is something else.
Before the official test, which was to be recorded by Guinness World Records, several rehearsals were held using the same phone. This means that these phones survived more than a few drops!
According to the company, the HONOR X9c 5G has a 5-star SGS drop resistance rating and can withstand drops from a height of up to two meters. It also has IP65M waterproofing and heat resistance that can withstand temperatures from -40°C to 70°C.
To test all of these robust features, participants continued to conduct various experiments after the official attempt, including cooking, falling from heights, and being thrown onto towers of collapsing stacks of cans.
