Fire Point is building a new plant for the licensed production of jet engines for cruise missiles
Fire Point, the manufacturer of Ukrainian Flamingo cruise missiles, is currently using a stockpile of old turbojet aircraft engines that, according to the company's technical director, were found literally "in the dump." But this stockpile is not infinite, so Fire Point is building a new factory that is planned to be launched next year.
This was stated by Fire Point Technical Director Iryna Terek at a press conference during the MSPO 2025 military exhibition, reports Military.
The company bought thousands of old turbojet engines with less than 10 hours of remaining life in advance to have a stockpile before mass production
"We have a large stock for many months to come. No one is producing them for us right now. We found these engines literally 'in the dump' and restored them," Terek noted at a press conference.
By the end of the year, the company plans to significantly increase the production rate: if as of September it is approximately 2 missiles per day (full cycle), then they want to reach 200 per month.
Given these plans and the fact that supplies will eventually run out, Fire Point is already building a plant under license from a Ukrainian manufacturer to manufacture engines on its own starting early next year.
According to the company's technical director, the engine design was simplified as much as possible, taking into account the need to produce them cheaply and in large quantities with a planned service life of 10 hours.
In general, the company's production is almost completely automated and divided into many different locations. The only element that is manufactured and developed by other Ukrainian companies is the warhead. Currently, it is a penetrating one, which "pierces thick concrete" and goes 10 m underground. But soon a cluster warhead and "many other types" will also be created.
