Fire Point plans to launch mass production of ballistic missiles.

The Flamingo missile manufacturer announced in September the development of the FP-7 and FP-9 ballistic missiles, which have the potential for air defense. The development of the FP-7 ballistic missile began in August 2024. Its declared operating range is up to 200 km, and the maximum payload is 150 kg. The second missile, the FP-9, can fly 855 km and carry an 800 kg payload.

«FP-7 is a ready-made missile, it is flying, now we are finalizing our tests and hope to put it into service by the new year. Only this is not a missile, but a ballistic drone. We plan to put the second ballistic drone, the FP-9, into service by June,» commented Fire Point co-owner and chief designer Denis Shtilerman.

The developers say that in Ukraine many missiles are now codified as UAVs. This is necessary so that they can be tested and put into service more quickly. «Right now, even ballistics in our country is a drone,» says the company’s CTO Iryna Terek. According to her, if the regulations for the missile program are simplified, the industry will be renamed the missile industry.

The company plans to launch mass production of ballistic missiles.

«We are building a plant in Denmark to manufacture solid-fuel engines for accelerators for the FP-5 („Flamingo“ — ed.), as well as for our FP-7 and FP-9 ballistic missiles. This is a plant that is very dangerous to have in Ukraine right now, because when it hits the air, hydrochloric acid will be released and this will cause an environmental disaster,» said Stillerman.
