The temporary investigative commission of the Verkhovna Rada has summoned the founders of the Ukrainian defense tech company Fire Point, Yegor Skalysia and Denys Shtilerman, to a meeting. Former Defense Minister Rustem Umerov and Serhiy Shefir have also been summoned.

What is Fire Point?

The company was founded in 2022 and specializes in long-range weapons of its own design: FP-1 kamikaze drones (range up to 1,600 km), FP-5 Flamingo cruise missiles (range up to 3,000 km), and FP-9 ballistic missiles (range up to 855 km). According to CEO Irina Terek, the company employs 5,000 people, a quarter of whom are in R&D (about 1,200 people).

Timur Mindich is a Ukrainian businessman, co-owner of the 1+1 media group, who is associated with the inner circle of President Volodymyr Zelensky. In 2025, the businessman found himself at the center of a scandal after the appearance of the so-called «Mindich tapes» — audio recordings of his conversations made as part of criminal proceedings.

The reason was the investigation by Ukrainska Pravda, to which DOU refers. The publication published audio recordings in which businessman Timur Mindich allegedly discusses with Umerov the financing of drone production, state contracts, and a possible sale of the company. Before that, Mindich publicly stated that he was not a beneficiary of Fire Point and was not connected with its state orders.

Among the episodes on the recordings are negotiations about the sale of 33% of Fire Point shares for $600 million, where half of the amount was to go as a cash-out to shareholders, as well as issues regarding the supply of bulletproof vests worth $7 million, which had been in storage for three months without being accepted by the state.
