Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation Valeria Koval spoke about the preparation of new digital tools in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.
According to the official, by the end of this year, the developers are preparing the release of more than ten new services. Among the most interesting updates is the possibility of registering in "Diya" for foreigners, which will allow them to legally use certain state services of Ukraine on a smartphone. The team is also working on launching an electronic queue for crossing the border by passenger cars, displaying court enforcement documents, expanding the functionality of the International Register of Losses, and digitizing military record-keeping for employees of enterprises.
In parallel, the Ministry of Digital Affairs is implementing a global project to integrate the Ukrainian application into the single European Digital Identity Wallet. Ukraine became the first country outside the European Union to join this process. Currently, four key documents are being technically tested: an electronic driver's license, a digital certificate of residence, a taxpayer card, and an electronic identity card.
"In my opinion, the digital driver's license is an excellent candidate for the fastest launch in the EU. This is due to the presence of international standards, huge demand from drivers, and the high popularity of this proven service in Ukraine," said Valeria Koval.
The ministry adds that work is currently underway to harmonize legislation so that Ukrainian electronic signatures receive full legitimacy in all European Union countries. In the future, the creation of similar trusted digital hubs with countries on other continents is being considered.
Valeria Koval also said that in the summer, three long-awaited services will appear in "Diya" : online divorce, Europrotocol, and the "eYasla" program.
