Co-owner and chief designer of the Ukrainian company Fire Point, Denis Shtilerman, spoke about the production and testing of FP-7 missiles.
According to him, the FP-7 is an analogue of the American ATACMS missile, but half the price. However, the Ukrainian development is not as compact as the American one, he said in an interview with Channel 24.
Stillerman noted that Fire Point manufactures almost all of the components for the FP-7 missile itself, from the engines to the flight controllers. The exception is the warhead, which is custom-made.
«The flight has already taken place. Now we are moving on to testing on our 'beloved' neighbors,» said the chief designer of Fire Point.
Previously, Stillerman published a video of the testing of the FP-7 ballistic missile. It is capable of carrying a 150 kg warhead, reaching a speed of 1.5 km per second and hitting targets with an accuracy of up to 14 m.
Denis Shtilerman noted that the high price of ballistic missiles is partly due to the bureaucratic burden on miltech companies. However, the Ukrainian authorities have simplified this burden for domestic manufacturers by allowing ballistics to be codified as drones.
