FPV with a minigun — British developer creates a driving shooter Nexus FPV for those who are bored with traditional drone simulators

The co-founder of TruePlayers said he wanted to learn how to fly FPV drones, but found the existing simulators boring. So he decided to create his own roguelike shooter about FPV combat, full of action and explosions, but with realistic controls and physics.

«In Nexus, you are a force of nature. Maneuver under fire, master aerial combat, and wreak havoc from the skies in this high-stakes FPV drone roguelike shooter. Pilot advanced combat drones in tense missions where every moment counts. Death brings you back to base—but your technology, skills, and power grow with each run,» reads the Nexus FPV description.

The game will allow you to modify and customize the drone’s hull and propellers, as well as experiment with weaponry. Players will need to acquire «military trophies» on missions to build their base, unlock new drones, and research new weapons.

«I wanted to learn how to fly FPV drones, but all the simulators were boring, so I’m working on it,» Adrian Ruiz, co-founder of TruePlayers, told X (Twitter).

According to him, conventional FPV simulators feel like «homework» and offer no challenge, just flying on empty maps. Instead, Nexus FPV will offer a more entertaining approach while retaining the simulator elements — it will not have assist or arcade controls, and the drones will have realistic physics.

In Nexus FPV, players will face defense systems and squadrons of enemy drones in cramped industrial areas and open battlefields. «Each race makes you stronger — your skills sharpen with each flight, and your base grows with each piece you find,» the developer explains the game’s concept.

Nexus FPV is scheduled for release in 2025. It already has a page on Steam, where Ukrainian localization is listed among the supported languages.
