The Franco-Ukrainian defense company Alta Ares, which develops artificial intelligence-based counter-drone systems, has won six out of sixteen lots of a NATO framework contract. The manufacturer's solutions for detecting and physically destroying drones will officially be included in the Alliance's catalog.

As the publication "Censor.NET" notes , the developer received the largest number of lots among all participants. In total, almost 100 applicants competed for contracts, from which NATO selected five companies, including enterprises from the USA, Great Britain and Germany.

The Alta Ares lots are for territory and border protection systems. They cover three categories of solutions: stationary, transportable and mobile. The inclusion of these products in the official NATO catalog will allow Allies to purchase or lease the systems through a simplified procedure without additional tenders, and the Alliance itself will finance the purchase of equipment for testing.

The company's developments are based on air defense systems controlled by artificial intelligence. The complex combines specialized software, sensors, control systems and interceptors, which are designed to destroy air targets, including Shahed-type strike drones and loitering munitions. The platform's algorithms were trained on the basis of real combat experience gained during the war in Ukraine and military operations in the Persian Gulf region.

“A drone countermeasure system must provide a full cycle of work — from threat detection to interception. We have based this principle on the company's work, taking into account data from combat operations in Ukraine in our software. We are making efforts to ensure that allied countries have access to new generation air defense assets at an affordable price and on the scale they need,” said CEO and co-founder of Alta Ares Adrian Kanter.

Currently, the manufacturer is increasing its capacity together with partners to fulfill the contract. In case of receiving large-scale orders, the company plans to localize production in client countries and expand European supply chains. The agreement itself is being implemented through the Drone Edge Marketplace platform as part of NATO's plan for the rapid introduction of new technologies - this mechanism was created to significantly reduce the terms of procurement of innovative defense equipment.
