FutureHouse introduced four AI Scientist agents that are capable of performing a variety of scientific tasks better than humans.
The three AI agents (Crow, Falcon, and Owl) have access to a large database of full scientific texts, allowing users to ask them more detailed questions about experimental protocols and study limitations that might be missed by universal search engines, which typically only have access to limited scientific materials, X CEO Sam Rodriguez said on his page .
Rodriguez says AI Scientist uses a variety of factors to determine the quality of sources, so as to avoid low-quality articles or popular science sources. FutureHouse provides researchers with API access to better integrate agents into their workflows.
So far, FutureHouse has released three AI Scientist agents.
The fourth AI agent, Phoenix, is a recently created experimental project that demonstrates what can happen when AI agents are given access to a large number of scientific tools. However, the company notes that its performance is not yet good enough, and the company's other "birds" perform the task better.
FutureHouse showed a video demonstrating how their AI agents can be used to generate and evaluate new hypotheses and plan new experiments.
Today, we are launching the first publicly available AI Scientist, via the FutureHouse Platform.

The company plans to launch data analysis, hypothesis generation, and protein engineering tools on the FutureHouse platform in the coming months. The platform is currently free to use.
