GitHub has introduced an agent panel, available on every page of github.com , that allows developers to delegate coding tasks to GitHub Copilot across the entire GitHub platform, InfoWorld writes .
The Agent Dashboard allows developers to assign and manage Copilot tasks from a single interface.
The Agent Dashboard is available in public preview for all paid Copilot users. It’s essentially a control center for all tasks performed by agents on the GitHub platform. Developers can submit background tasks, track their progress, and view pull requests created by agents without having to navigate to other pages.
To access the dashboard, simply click on the new Agents button in the navigation bar. This easy-to-use interface allows you to assign new Copilot tasks and track existing ones without being distracted from your main work.
GitHub said that Copilot tasks can be launched from the new agent panel with a simple query. Users can describe a goal in natural language and select the appropriate repository. Copilot will take it from there and start creating a plan, preparing changes, running tests, and preparing a pull request. The coding agent runs in the background, working on multiple tasks in parallel, and produces a draft pull request when they are complete.
