This is stated in the company's official email newsletter for service subscribers.
According to the announcement, the amount of cloud storage included in the AI Plus plan is increasing from 200 GB to 400 GB. The updated data will automatically appear in users' accounts over the next few days.
The most significant innovations concern interaction with the language model. The Gemini application introduces so-called compute-based usage limits. This means that the limits will no longer be calculated based on the number of messages. The system will take into account the complexity of the prompt, the additional functions used, and the total length of the dialogue. This quota will be updated every 5 hours until the user exhausts the total weekly limit. AI Plus subscribers are provided with twice the amount of computation than non-subscribers.
In addition, the company is changing the approach to charging AI credits. The new limit model will gradually spread to other ecosystem products, starting with the Flow and Antigravity services. Because of this, Google is canceling the monthly charging of 200 fixed AI credits, which were previously included in the package as a bonus. The company assures that the new calculation system will allow you to maintain the usual level of access to services.
Gemini AI product lead Vikas Kansal reported that the subscription price will also change from $4.99 to $7.99, but for Ukrainian users this price is the default, so it will not change and is 225 UAH per month.
