Gemini will feature an interface that will direct users to a support hotline if the conversation indicates a “potential crisis related to suicide or self-harm,” Bloomberg writes .
Additionally, Google is adding a "Help Nearby" module for mental health conversations and making design changes to prevent dangerous actions.
The explosive popularity of Gemini and ChatGPT has a downside: some users are becoming obsessed with the AI bots, which is said to be causing mental disorders and sometimes fatal tragedies. As a result, leading AI developers have faced a series of lawsuits from affected families.
Congress is also investigating how dangerous chatbots can be for the unformed psyches of children and adolescents.
