As Google notes , according to testing results, the Gemini 3 Flash model significantly outperforms its predecessor and in some indicators matches the performance of other advanced models, such as the Gemini 3 Pro and GPT 5.2.
In particular, on the Humanity's Last Exam test, which is designed to test knowledge in various fields, Gemini 3 Flash scored 33.7%. For comparison, Gemini 3 Pro scored 37.5%, Gemini 2.5 Flash scored 11%, and the recently released GPT-5.2 scored 34.5%.
For developers, the company is making the model available in preview via an API and in Antigravity, a new coding tool from Google released last month.
The company also showed how a fully functional application can be made with a single prompt.
Google claims that the new model uses an average of 30% fewer tokens than the 2.5 Pro.
Companies like JetBrains, Figma, Cursor, Harvey, and Latitude are already using the Gemini 3 Flash model, which is available through Vertex AI and Gemini Enterprise.
Gemini 3 Flash is now the default model in the Gemini app, replacing 2.5 Flash. Gemini 3 Flash is also the default in Google Search and, according to the company, offers better structured answers with useful links.
Previously, the Gemini AI model was trained to perform simultaneous voice translation into over 70 languages while preserving the speaker's intonation, tempo, and pitch.
