This was announced on the official Google Workspace blog. According to the developers, the update is designed to minimize the time employees spend on routine switching between tabs.
A key innovation was «topic contextualization.» If a user asks the AI to write a response to a partner or a report to a manager, Gemini can access files on Google Drive and previous correspondence in Gmail. The system independently extracts the necessary details, figures or facts and inserts them into the text. This eliminates the need for manual copying of data and formatting.
In addition, the updated tool has learned to imitate the tone and style of a particular user. By analyzing previously sent letters, the AI creates drafts that are as close as possible to the way a person writes in real life.
«We’ve added two new personalization improvements to bring you closer to the perfect email every time,» the company says. In particular, the feature will come in handy when preparing grant applications, pitching new projects, finding partners, or reporting on development progress.
The feature rollout began on May 5, 2026. The update is available to corporate users of Business and Enterprise plans, as well as personal accounts with Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscriptions.
Google previously introduced Workspace Intelligence, a system based on Gemini AI that automates work in the company’s popular office services. The new tools will allow users to create spreadsheets faster, generate texts in Google Docs, and analyze data from Drive, Mail, and Calendar.
