Google has introduced «Search profiles» for publishers and content creators — dedicated profile pages that help users find their content across platforms.
These new Search profiles, which are similar to social media pages, allow authors and publishers to showcase their latest articles, videos, and social media posts, Cybernews writes .
Google said they are «a special space that can be shared to highlight content across platforms and help audiences find accurate, relevant information about sources in Search.»
Users can access profiles in Search through the author or publisher’s knowledge panel on mobile devices, by clicking on the publisher or author’s name in Discover, or by following a direct URL link.
They can contain links to websites and social media, as well as recent videos and articles pulled from major social media platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
Users will be able to subscribe to publishers and authors and receive more of their content in the Discover feed.

Currently, Search profiles are available to «publishers and creators with a significant following on at least one major social or video platform,» who can claim their profile and customize it. Claiming a profile can trigger the creation of a knowledge panel, a block of information that provides a quick overview of facts about a famous person, organization, or other entity.
Publishers and authors who already have a knowledge panel will be able to enhance it with an updated avatar, fresh content, and a direct link to their profile.
Google said the feature will initially launch in the US, although the company plans to scale it to creators around the world and introduce more features «to make profiles even more useful.»
«We look forward to seeing how these new profiles will help publishers and creators build their presence and make their work stand out on Search,» Google added.
