Alleged GTA VI gameplay leaked online. What is known about the leak?

With just over a week to go before the grand unveiling of Grand Theft Auto VI, videos of purportedly real gameplay and images of the game's map have surfaced online. Take-Two, the parent company of Rockstar Games, the publisher of GTA, has already begun sending complaints to users who are distributing the materials.

This is reported by Kotaku.

At the same time, Rockstar and Take-Two have still not confirmed that the videos are real, and reports of an alleged new "major hack" by the company have not yet been officially confirmed.

In one of the first videos, Jason, one of the main characters of GTA VI, is playing basketball near a house on the coast. After a successful shot, his Focus indicator supposedly increases, which may hint at a system for developing the character's characteristics. Other videos are much more similar to classic GTA: city trips, accidents, fights and escapes from the police. Also, marks were noticed on one of the interfaces, which could mean that law enforcement officers remember the car, clothes or appearance of the hero.

The materials are distributed by the Cyberleek group, which claims to be involved in the leak. On its website, a manifesto with demands for major game publishers has also been published. Cyberleek wants publishers to stop selling digital pre-orders. And also not to cut out ready-made content from the game for further sale as DLC and not to take away the ability to work offline from single-player games. It threatens new leaks to companies that violate these rules.

The group also advertises its own cryptocurrency on the Solana network and encourages people to buy it, allegedly to finance a secret project against large corporations.

Previously, dev.ua wrote that in April 2026, the ShinyHunters hacker group announced the hacking of Rockstar Games servers and threatened to publish the stolen data.
