Rockstar Games has officially announced the release date for its long-awaited Grand Theft Auto VI extended gameplay walkthrough. The first detailed gameplay demo will be available on August 27th, with Netflix subscribers getting a six-hour early access to the video.
The developers announced this on their blog. The presentation, titled Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look, will begin on August 27 at 10:00 PM Kyiv time on the Netflix streaming service platforms.
The video will appear on public platforms — the official Rockstar Games YouTube channel and the project website — on the night of August 28 — at 04:00 Kyiv time.
Although the developers have not yet specified the exact timing of the video, the «extended review» format involves a detailed demonstration of the gameplay, open-world mechanics, and an introduction to the main characters.
The development of Grand Theft Auto VI is one of the most anticipated events in global game development. The game’s first announcement trailer was released in late 2023 and set a record for the most views on YouTube among non-music videos in the first day.
Recall that, contrary to the fears of gamers and analysts' forecasts about a possible price tag of $100 for the base version, Rockstar Games has set the price of Grand Theft Auto VI at $80. This price for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles is only $10 higher than the current industry standard of $70. The developers also confirmed the release date and announced that physical boxed copies will be sold without traditional discs.
