The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has published details about the components of the Russian Geran-3 jet UAV (an analogue of the Iranian Shahed-238). Most of the 45 identified foreign components are manufactured by Western companies.
The GUR said that the «U» series «Geran-3» is a localized Russian version of the IranianShahed-23 8 jet attack drone.
It uses the Chinese Telefly JT80 turbojet engine, which allows the drone to fly at speeds from 300 to 370 km/h at a distance of up to 1,000 km. It develops such a speed already in the range of Ukrainian air defense, electronic warfare and UAV interceptors, as well as on the approach to the target.
To ensure protection of satellite navigation from electronic warfare, the «Reactive Shahed» has a protected satellite navigation system with an adaptive antenna array (CRPA) of 12 elements — «Comet-M12».
«The layout of modules and electronic units is mostly the same as the gasoline versions of the Geran-2 series „Y“: in particular, it includes the standard SADRA inertial navigation system, air pressure measurement unit (ADC), power distribution unit (PDU), etc.,» noted the GUR specialists.

They created a 3D model of the Geran-3 jet drone, which can be viewed on the War&Sanctions portal. The GUR noted that of the 45 identified foreign components, half were from American manufacturers, eight from Chinese, seven from Swiss, three from German, two from British, and one from a Japanese company.
The Shahed rocket was also used during the attack on Kyiv on August 28. Remains of Western components were found among the wreckage of downed Russian drones.
