«I don’t expect any crazy revenues to the state budget, honestly, I don’t expect them in any decent form at all. Although, maybe something will happen. We will definitely legalize crypto, I think we will try in the first quarter. Possibly in the second quarter, in the second reading, we will get to this», — said Danylo Getmantsev.
He said that cryptocurrencies will have the «normal» taxation, like securities, of 18%. The Finance Committee does not envisage reduced rates for cryptocurrencies. Hetmantsev added that he does not have cryptocurrencies and invests only in military bonds.
Kyivstar President Oleksandr Komarova asked a podcast guest which Ukrainian companies he would invest in if Ukraine had a securities market with issuers like Kyivstar and Nova Poshta. Hetmantsev replied that he would invest in Kyivstar.
«I really plan that we will be able to bring Kyivstar shares to the domestic market so that people can buy them, they understand our business better», — said Komarov.
Recall that in January, the president of Kyivstar said that the parent company VEON and Cohen Circle signed a memorandum of intent, which may result in the placement of Kyivstar shares on the Nasdaq stock exchange in the United States.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov stated that the legalization of the cryptocurrency market could potentially bring up to UAH 15 billion to the Ukrainian budget. This is stated in a study by Global Ledger, which notes that Ukrainian users generate about 2,5% of global crypto exchange traffic.
