Oleksandr Potiy, Head of the State Service for Special Communications, believes that the cyber defense system, built on new legislative regulation, should return «creative potential» to cyber defense teams, providing them with clear rules and removing excessive bureaucracy.

He said this during a workshop for specialists from state structures and critical infrastructure facilities, the department’s press service reports .

«In the hands of responsible managers and specialists on the ground, the proposed model can either really increase the capacity of the systems or turn into another formal tool,» he noted.

According to Potiy, firstly, new approaches will make it possible to understand what exactly needs to be done in a specific system, secondly, as if from a designer, you can flexibly build protection for your system without excessive regulation, and thirdly, the key mechanism is quick authorization based on the declarative principle.

Oleksandr Potiy added that the State Service for Special Communications will help ensure that at least the first 10 systems are authorized under the new rules by the end of the year.

«I am waiting for the first authorization letters that will certify that your systems are authorized for security according to the new standards. And I would like us to no longer receive technical specifications for approval at the KSZI in 2026, but to work exclusively within the framework of a new, effective model,» Potiy concluded.

Earlier, as dev.ua wrote, Potiy estimated how many people will be needed for the cybersecurity sector in connection with the adoption of the new law.

We will remind you that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed the law «On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine on Information Protection and Cybersecurity of State Information Resources and Critical Information Infrastructure Facilities» in April.
