The musician himself reported the incident on his Telegram channel. According to him, the detention took place at the train station.
«I think they recognized me, they want an autograph or a photo. I turn around. Police officers run up to me and quickly detain me. The facial recognition system recognized me as a terrorist journalist… Dmytro Gordon,» wrote Haliaminsky.
According to him, police officers even checked the detainee’s stubble and hair for «conspiracy.» He was eventually released.
In March 2022, the Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case against Dmitry Gordon under three articles, and he was later added to the register of «extremists and terrorists» and put on the wanted list. In 2024, a Moscow military court sentenced the journalist in absentia to 14 years in prison for inciting terrorism and spreading so-called «fake news» about the Russian army.
