"I work two jobs at the same time in Denmark. During the day I pick mushrooms for 22 euros per hour. In the evening I write in PHP/Laravel for 20 euros per hour." Ukrainian woman shares her experience of working abroad

Threads user the_dark_necessities shared her story of finding a job in Denmark.
«I decided to try something new, and now I’m working two jobs at the same time in Denmark. During the day I pick mushrooms — 22 euros/hour. In the evening I’m a developer at a startup, writing in PHP/Laravel for 20 euros/hour,» she wrote .
The girl added that two years ago she was an unpaid intern for three months with one of the developers at another startup. «Even then, he started working at this startup in parallel, and last month he wrote to me on LinkedIn and offered me a part-time job,» she added.
According to the programmer, she had been looking for a job for two years. «Then depression set in, I gave up. And then these two vacancies found me. They called me about the mushrooms, and they wrote to me about the startup on LinkedIn,» the specialist said.
However, to avoid burnout, the girl plans to stop working two jobs at the same time in the near future.
In the comments to the post, users ask the girl for advice and contacts for communicating with her IT startup employer. However, there are also value judgments about the situation on the market.
« 20 euros per hour of work as a programmer is sad. For that kind of money, all you get is a vibe code,» writes a user with the nickname nikabonikabo .
User Vadim Sobolev asks: «So, does it mean that mushroom pickers in Denmark earn more than IT people?»
«Can you pick mushrooms without knowing English? Because the salary is 4 times higher than mine after six years of study and three years of experience (and yes, I understand that the prices there are different, but it’s interesting.) So, when it comes to IT, Denmark is not the best country for that,» states user Artem with the nickname pinooo_ua .
«I don’t condemn those who want to leave the country — I was one of them myself.» As an AIT resident who paid a large sum to ferrymen and swam across the Tisza River, he now serves as a border guard himself
