GUR revealed a network of Russian factories that produce missiles for the Iskander-M complex
The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense has published a detailed structure of the Russian Iskander-M operational-tactical missile complex, a description of its key components, and a list of enterprises involved in the production of 9M723 missiles. In total, intelligence has identified 49 cooperation companies that ensure the operation of this weapons system.
According to the specialized publication «Military», citing data published on the War Sanctions portal, the main executor of state contracts for the development and production of 9M723 ballistic missiles is the Russian «Konstruktskom Bureau Mashinostroeniya», and serial assembly takes place at the facilities of the «Votkinsky Plant». Both enterprises have long been under restrictions from most countries of the sanctions coalition, but an updated analysis of the supply chain has shown that some critically important manufacturers still remain outside the sanctions pressure.
The GUR clarifies that the Iskander-M is one of the key elements of the Russian Federation’s missile arsenal and is systematically used against Ukrainian cities and infrastructure facilities. The publication of the structure of the complex and the cooperation map aims to demonstrate that behind each launch is not just one plant, but an extensive network of manufacturers of materials, electronics and control systems.
The intelligence agency is paying particular attention to 13 of the 49 companies that are still not under sanctions by any of the countries in the sanctions coalition. These include the Morozov Plant, which produces solid-fuel charges for rocket engines; the Psb Tekhnologii and Pantes companies, which supply boards for the Comet system, which the Russians install in 9M723 missiles instead of false targets; and the Serpukhov Metallist plant, which manufactures accelerometers for a platform-free inertial navigation system. It is these components that make the missile capable of delivering high-precision strikes at medium distances.
The GUR emphasizes that the weapons that Russia uses against Ukraine today may be deployed against other states in the future. As an example, intelligence cites the Russian Federation’s assistance to the DPRK in the modernization of KN-23 and KN-24 ballistic missiles, which indicates the export of Russian technologies to other authoritarian regimes.
Previously, dev.ua wrote about how the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine published details about the components of the Russian jet UAV «Geran-3» (an analogue of the Iranian Shahed-238). Most of the 45 identified foreign components are manufactured by Western companies.
