At the Defense Tech Innovations Forum exhibition, a kamikaze drone with anti-tank mines instead of wheels was shown, which was created by engineers of the 3rd separate assault brigade.
The drone body consists of three frames, inside which TM-62 anti-tank mines are fixed, notes «Militarnyi».
«In my opinion, things of this format, using TM-62 instead of wheels, are a rather interesting idea that compensates for the lack of wheels due to the explosive, which can be used as a payload on the battlefield,» said a representative of the brigade in a comment to Army TV.
Due to the smaller contact area with the surface and the lack of «wheel» relief, the drone’s running characteristics are somewhat inferior to conventional wheeled platforms. However, the low center of mass of the kamikaze drone provides it with additional stability when turning and overcoming obstacles.
🌍 Have you ever seen a ground-based kamikaze drone with TM-62 mines instead of wheels?
It is noted that three such «self-propelled mines» can inflict heavy losses on the enemy when approaching his positions, destroy equipment, and destroy fortifications.
Earlier, Ukraine created the Dovbush T10 drone, which can carry up to six FPV kamikaze drones. This was made possible thanks to an innovative suspension system for FPV drones.
In early February, it was reported that US defense startup XDOWN had developed the PS Killer, a lightweight tactical unmanned aerial vehicle designed for rapid deployment in combat. To launch it, you need to turn it on and throw it like a football.
