Ukrainians constantly check notifications and scroll through their feed 1-2 times a day — study
Rakuten Viber researched how often Ukrainians scroll through their newsfeeds. About half of respondents check their feeds 1-2 times a day, while every fifth respondent checks them every hour.
Rakuten Viber researched how often Ukrainians scroll through their newsfeeds. About half of respondents check their feeds 1-2 times a day, while every fifth respondent checks them every hour.
More than 30,000 users took part in a survey on the official Rakuten Viber Ukraine channel. It showed that 21% of Ukrainians scroll through their news feed at least once an hour, and about half (44%) — 1–2 times a day. In contrast, 12% of respondents do not read the news at all.
Rakuten Viber conducted a similar survey in 2023: over three years, the frequency of news reading by Ukrainians has almost not changed.
To the question «How often do you scroll through the news feed or check channels?» the answers were distributed as follows:
1–2 times a day — 44% (41% in 2023).
At least once an hour — 21% (27% in 2023).
Once a day is enough — 16% (13% in 2023).
I don’t read the news at all — 12% (11% in 2023).
Monitor news only during air alerts — 7% (8% in 2023).
The study also found out how often Ukrainians check incoming notifications on their phones — from mail, instant messengers, etc. 42% of respondents monitor notifications constantly. Another 11% of users view them several times an hour, 29% — several times a day. Only 4% of respondents turned off notifications on their phones.
